A conglomeration of SHGs at Mawkynbat village have taken up the challenge of low land vegetable cultivation during Feb – April/May in the command area calledUmyiap where only traditional paddy mono crop is taken up. Through the assistance under area expansion of vegetable under HMNEH the group now cultivate garden peas, carrot,coriander, beetroot and in a period of four months are able to earn an amountof Rs 35000 -45000/-as net revenue per SHG.The group member are now supplementing their family income, thus, raising their standard of living to a great extent. The untiring members are now motivating the neighbouring village farmers on the activities taken up by the group.
